AQUA    2.0

TASK

Design and fabricate a remote controller boat and race it on an unforgiving water track with difficulties and barriers you haven’t faced before , compete with other boats to win the one of a kind race Need for Speed Aqua.

Task
Arena

The Arena

  • The arena is an artificial pool that will be built using waterproof material.

  • The arena will be 7 meters wide and 4 meters in length. **

  • The depth of the pool will be 20 cm maximum.

  • The track consists of loops, S bends and other complex paths.

  • The track width is 40 cm. 

*Arena dimensions are not final. It is subject to change, by the event organizers. The final details will informed prior to the start of event.

Boat Specs

Specification

  • Dimension of the boat should be less than 45cm x 20cm x 20cm (l x w x h). The outer body of the boat cannot be bought from the market.

  • The boat cannot be 3D printed, it should be built from scratch.

  • The boat should be powered electrically only. Use of IC engines in any form is not allowed.

  • The battery voltage should not exceed 12V. The boat can only electric motor(s) for propulsion.

  • The boat should be wirelessly controlled. Participants can buy transmitter or use Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc for wireless communication.

  • Participants can also buy Motors, Servos, ESC, and batteries from the market.

  • All connection should be made safe to prevent short circuit and battery fires.

General Rules

  •  A team can consist of maximum of three members.

  • Each team must declare a name at the time of competition.

  • The machine should not contain any combustible, corrosive or explosive materials for safety reasons.

  • The teams must make sure that don’t damage the arena.

  • The boats have to complete the track in minimum time as possible.

  • There will be two rounds,

  • Round 1: Top 50% will be selected for the round 2 by considering the time taken to complete the track.

  • Round 2: The track will have small changes and new obstacles will be introduced.

  • Any rule is subjected to change during the event such as increasing or decreasing the number of objects or to insert an element of interest in the game making sure it is fair to all the teams.
